GK: Jürgen Croy; described as one of the best goalkeepers of his time, but didn't get the international fame he deserved, because he played his whole career for smalltimers Sachsenring Zwickau in East Germany.
RB: Berti Vogts; 1974 World Cup winner and 1972 European champion with Germany, 4x German champion with Gladbach for whom he played his whole career appearing 419 times.
CB: Goyo Benito; 6x Spanish champion with Real Madrid, he was only one of two players to have the Laureada being bestowed upon him by president Santiago Bernabeu, the other being Pirri (named in the 1945 Yearbook XI)
CB: Elías Ricardo Figueroa; 2x national champion in Brazil, 1x Chile and 2x Uruguay, widely regarded as one of South Americas all-time best defenders and winner of multible individuel awards.
LB: Barry Hulshoff; member of the great Ajax team winning 3 European Cups in a row. 7x Dutch champion. A central defender but with the DNA from total football, he can slot in at left back.
RM: Peter Lorimer; has been voted as the ninth-greatest Leeds player of all time and voted into the Greatest Leeds United team of all time.
CM: Fabio Capello; common known as one of the greatest managers of the game. But Capello was also a good midfielder with outstanding tecnique and vision, winning 4 Italian championships, 3 with Juventus and 1 with AC Milan.
CM: Volodymyr Muntyan; 7x Soviet champion and is considered to be one of the best and most talented players to ever represent Dynamo Kiev and Soviet Union.
LM: Dragan Džajić; has been known for his "great crosses and passes, unstoppable dribbling with great pace, natural technique and some of the best left footed free kicks ever seen"Džajić was named in being part of "the greatest European Championship XI of all time" by Goal.com.
AM: Roberto Rivellino; the 1970 World Cup winner is widely regarded as one of the most graceful football players ever, and among the best midfielders of his generation. He perfected a football move called the "flip flap". Later copied by Romario, Ronaldo and Ronaldinho.
AM: George Best; European Cup champion with Manchester United in 1968. A highly skilful winger, considered by several pundits to be one of the greatest dribblers in the history of the sport.
