Team of the decade - the 40's

So this is the best of the best that's born in the 1940's. Ballon d'or winners, multible World Cup winners and European Cup winners. Players whom are regarded as the best the world has ever seen. See player descriptions below.

GK: Dino Zoff; Considered one of the greatest goalkeepers of all time. Is the oldest ever winner of the World Cup, when he won in 1982 as a 40 year old.

RB: Carlos Alberto; he is widely regarded as one of the best defenders of all time. Scored the fourth goal in the 1970 World Cup final, considered one of the greatest goals in the history of the tournament Nicknamed "O Capitão do Tri"

CB: Franz Beckenbauer; Not enough lines to describe this man. Won it all as a player and manager. He is widely regarded to be one of the greatest players in the history of the sport.

CB: Bobby Moore; in 2003 he was selected as the Golden player of England by The FA, as their most outstanding player of the past 50 years. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest defenders in the history of football.

LB: Ruud Krol; he was a crucial component in the Total Football side of the 1970s Ajax and Netherlands. Could play every position in defence and midfield. Captained Ajax when Cruyff and Keizer left.

DCM: Gerson; he is regarded as one of the best passers in the history of the sport, and as one of Brazil's greatest ever players. Nicknamed "Canhotinha de ouro" or the Golden left foot.

RCM: George Best; A highly skilful winger, considered by several pundits to be one of the greatest dribblers in the history of the sport.

LCM: Johan Cruyff; one of the most influencient players in the history of football. Was an exponent of the football philosophy known as Total Football explored by Rinus Michels. 3x Ballon d'or winner.

FW: Eusebio; he was known for his speed, technique, athleticism and his ferocious right-footed shot, making him a prolific goalscorer, considered by many as one of the greatest footballers of all time. Nicknamed the Black Panther, the Black Pearl or "o Rei"

ST: Pelé; is regarded as the best player of all time. Here's what the other players in this team has said about him.
